Manager Jesse Rivera has excelled in guiding our efforts here for several years. We’re pleased to give you the chance to get to know this consummate professional:

Question: How long have you been in the automotive repair industry?

Answer: I’ve been in the industry since I was 16 years old. I started out as a General Service technician and worked my way up to full technician, then sales advisor, service manager and finally store manager.

Q: How did you get your start?

A: I started out at my family’s tire shop doing warehousing and customer wheel work. I moved on from the family business to find my own path when I was 18 years old.

Q:What’s your favorite auto repair to complete?

A: Any repair that gets my customers back on the road in a timely manner.

Q:What’s your favorite type of vehicle to make repairs on?

A: I don’t really have a preference; I just enjoy problem-solving and helping people, so repairing vehicles is an incredible opportunity to do that on a daily basis.

Q:What are the qualities a Sun Auto Service technician possesses?

A: Fast, efficient and knowledgeable are the primary traits all of our technicians possess, as well as being motivated and helpful.

Q:What type of training do your technicians need to complete? What’s included in this training?

A: All of our technicians are ASE certified and/or dealership certified in specific fields. No matter what the repair or vehicle, our technicians have the training and know-how to get our customers back on the road.

Q:What’s the most commonly asked question you get about automotive repair?

A: How long is it going to take? We here at Sun Auto, understand that our customers have a busy schedule, and we do our best to provide timely repairs that coincide with those schedules.

Q:If you could dismiss one myth about automotive maintenance/repair, what would that be?

A: The honesty and integrity of our industry. The industry as a whole has had a perception of dishonestly in years past. We, as auto service professionals, constantly have to display the utmost honesty and transparency when explaining and performing repairs. I’m happy to be a part of a company that takes the extra effort to make that the basis of our culture.

Q:What is your favorite part of the job? Your favorite part about working for Sun Auto Service?

A: The people. All the way from our customers to our fellow employees and extending out to our excellent providers and business partners. It’s a pleasure to be part of the Sun Auto Service family.

Q:What’s the number one tip you would provide to car owners about maintaining their vehicles?

A: Do it. Maintenance is the most overlooked aspect of vehicle ownership. It is also the most important. It is our job to inform and educate our customers on the importance of maintenance and the advantages attached to being proactive.
