The best thing about owning a 5th wheel trailer, motorhome, or other recreational camper is that you can make just about anywhere your home. Though when you’re traveling through Texas, especially if you’re staying near the coast, you may never want to leave. Coastal towns such as Galveston, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, and so many others are sure to captivate you with sights and the peaceful sound of the ocean waves. 

There’s no shortage of activities, either. Whether you enjoy fishing, getting out on the water, or shopping and dining, there are plenty of things to do and see that will keep you entertained for days. We’ve composed a list of some of the many traveler’s favorite RV Parks on the Texas Coast. All you have to do is make your reservation, set your GPS, and hit the road.

Right alongside the aqua blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, in the southern tropical tip of Texas, lies the town of Port Isabel. The town is hard to miss as their proudest landmark is a towering lighthouse built in 1852. Just one of the nation’s southernmost lighthouses, this landmark has served as a guide for ships from the Brazos Santiago Pass to Port Isabel.

A short drive across the causeway will take you to South Padre Island where water activities, shopping, and restaurants are plentiful.

While this gated, 425-site RV park does not offer pull through sites it is equipped to accommodate large size campers. The park is acceptable for all ages as well as pets. Every site offers full hookups, electricity, water, cable, and Wi-Fi.

Campers have access to a playground, pet area, clubhouse with pool tables, basketball courts, pool and hot tub, pickleball courts, restrooms, showers, laundry, propane, and a dump station. 

The grounds have a private kayak ramp, lighted fishing pier, and boat ramp with car rinse and boat flush area. Activities offered include BINGO, water aerobics, and more.

Quintana Beach Park

Aptly named the Gateway to the Gulf, Quintana Beach is a petite man-made island on the upper Texas Gulf Coast. Quintana Beach is ideal for those who enjoy a quieter, more relaxing beach experience. The beach is naturally maintained by the tides and weather without any human intervention. The long jetty stretching into the gulf is perfect for fishing enthusiasts.

The Quintana Beach County Park offers 56 camping sites that also offer day-use amenities. The park features cabins for rent and fully paved RV sites with grassy areas between sites. The grounds offer pull through sites and big rig access. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. 

The facility is both kid and pet friendly, includes full hookups, electricity, sewer, water, and Wi-Fi. The facility is equipped with a clubhouse area with kitchen, restrooms and showers, laundry facility, and water access. Activities include a playground, volleyball court, pedestrian beach, trails, and a lighted fishing pier.

Reservations can be made through the Brazoria County website. Rates fluctuate based on season. October through February sites are $22 per night and $32 per night March through September.

Bluewater RV Resort

Freeport, located in Brazos County is “Where Fun Happens.” The city of Freeport, located on the riverbed, is just minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico where the mouth of Brazos River flows.

Fishing, beach fun, golf and more await you. Bring your boat along and store it at the Freeport Marina or Bridge Harbor Yacht Club or charter a boat and take to the open waters for a unique fishing experience. 

Bluewater RV Resort is a brand new, gated resort with 200 sites with access to 11 miles of unrestricted beach. An onsite bar and restaurant offers dining inside and out with stunning bay views. The resort offers pull through sites and is able to accommodate large-sized RVs. Each site includes full hookups, electricity, sewer, satellite/cable, water, and Wi-Fi. 

The facility features restrooms, showers, laundry area, propane, pet area including dog wash station, gift shop, banquet room, cottages for rent, swimming pool, playground, and covered picnic areas.

An outdoor shower is also available to wash away the sandy beach. Activities will keep you entertained with kayaks and paddle board rentals, lawn games, pickle-ball, trails, fishing, bird watching, and beach activities.


Tiki Tom’s RV Park

Just north of Galveston off of a small peninsula in Jones Bay, is the coastal community of Tiki Island. This island shaped like a tropical leaf, is just minutes away from the island of Galveston. A popular cruise port with many tourist attractions such as Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, and the Historic Pleasure Pier.

Enjoy a day exploring, dining, and enjoying the many attractions then return to a slower, more relaxing island feeling on Tiki Island at Tiki Tom’s RV Park.

The park is located right on the water and has 50 campsites available. Though there are no pull through sites, the grounds can accommodate larger sized RVs. The facility welcomes pets and all ages. Each site includes full hookups with electricity, sewer, satellite/cable hookups, water, and Wi-Fi in the clubhouse. 

The clubhouse includes access to showers, restrooms, laundry area, and a workout area. Visit the boat house observation deck for stunning views and breathtaking sunsets. The grounds, just steps away from the beach, has lighted piers and fish cleaning areas throughout the park.

Sandpiper RV Resort

An island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas, Galveston has both fast-paced entertainment and attractions as well as a calm island experience on the western part of the island. This part of the island is a bird-watcher’s dream, with many different types of birds flocking to the area throughout the year.

Galveston Island State Park is ideal for hikers, kayakers, and fishing fans. There’s plenty of beach to enjoy the sun and sand as well.

Sandpiper RV Resort is a gated park situated on the east end of the island close to Stewart Beach and the infamous Historic Strand District. Dotted with palm trees around the resort, there are 43 paved and landscaped sites with pull through ability and large RV access.
