How long have you been in the automotive industry?

21 years

How did you get your start?

I started my career in this industry as a Service Advisor at an independent automotive center in 1998.

What’s your favorite auto repair to complete?

My favorite kind of auto repair is one that makes my customer smile such as a quick repair that’s so easy, that I don’t even have to charge the customer!

What’s your favorite type of vehicle to make repairs on?

I’ve got a “need for speed” and really like high-performance vehicles. Anything that goes really fast is my kind of car!

What are the qualities a Sun Auto Service technician possesses?

Above all, a technician on our team must take pride in his work. This goes beyond just getting the job done. Our technicians have a strong desire to perform quality repairs, with high-quality parts, on time.

What type of training do your technicians need to complete? What’s included in this training?

All of our auto technicians here at Sun Auto Service are ASE Certified and continue their education to take on new challenges presented within the industry. We also believe in “promoting within” which is why we offer apprenticeship programs and on-the-job training for entry-level technicians.

What’s the most commonly asked question you get about automotive repair?

We get all kinds of questions all the time and we’re always happy to answer or offer our advice. The question I get most often is “What make, and model car do you see the least? What car should I buy?” While we may see certain vehicles more than others, the best way to prevent having a vehicle with many problems is by ensuring the vehicle is well maintained. Flushes, fuel cleanings, and spark plug replacements along with regular oil changes is a great start. If you could dismiss one myth about automotive maintenance/repair, what would that be?

Many myths and falsehoods surround vehicle repairs but if I had the choice, I’d say the biggest myth I’d like to eliminate is that when your alignment is off, it causes vibrations. It can’t! Learn more about alignments here.

What is your favorite part of the job? Your favorite part about working for Sun Auto Service?

My favorite part of working with Sun Auto Service is helping people getting their car repaired all at a price that’s lower than they expected. Everyone loves to save money and I’m glad to help people do so!

What’s the number one tip you would provide to car owners about maintaining their vehicle?

Your engine oil isn’t the only fluid that needs regular replacement. Power steering, transmission, and brake fluids are all very important, as well!
