If you’ve been a driver for long enough, then you probably know the stress that occurs when your vehicle’s not working right. It might begin innocently enough–maybe just a few rough starts here and there when firing up your engine in the morning. By the time you’ve started hearing mysterious knocking noises or perhaps caught a glimpse of the dreaded Check Engine light appearing on your dashboard, it can all be enough to derail your entire day if you’re not prepared. That’s where the ASE-certified technicians at Sun Auto Service get involved.
A Different Kind of Service Center
Here at Sun Auto Service, our focus is simple: Provide our customers with the right repairs, and provide them at the right prices. We know that your car is an everyday necessity, but that’s still no reason to overspend should something happen to go wrong. Our team is known for delivering top-notch results, and without the kind of price tag you may have come to expect from visits to the dealership. Whether you have concerns about a personal vehicle or a professional one, be sure to make us your first call anytime you need service or repairs in the Georgetown, Texas area.
Meet the Manager
We recently sat down with our shop manager in Georgetown, 18-year industry veteran Mike Weir. Alongside his well-trained staff, Mike ensures top-quality auto work and customer service every day. He took the time to provide us with some insight into his own experiences, talked about what it takes to maintain a successful service center and shared just a bit of what he’s learned during his nearly two decades in the automotive field:
Question: How did you get your start?
Answer: I began my career with a competitor in 1999 without any real automotive experience. My father was a career automotive technician and was working for the same business at that time.
Q: What’s your favorite auto repair to complete?
A: Honestly, anything broken. I certainly enjoy making people’s vehicles run as they should.
Q: What’s your favorite type of vehicle to make repairs on?
A: All vehicles are created equal to myself and my team. We’re happy to give attention to any type of vehicle that is in need of care.
Q: What are the qualities a Sun Auto Service technician possesses?
A: We have excellent technicians who study to stay up-to-date on today’s technology. Our technicians enjoy working for a company who invests in all the needed software and equipment to keep up with today’s vehicles.
Q: What type of training do your technicians need to complete? What’s included in this training?
A: All of the technicians in our store are ASE certified.
Q: What’s the most commonly asked question you get about automotive repair?
A: I get asked a lot about the importance of maintenance. I have seen that maintaining a vehicle to at least the manufacturer’s recommendation will save the consumer thousands.
Q: If you could dismiss one myth about automotive maintenance/repair, what would that be?
A: The integrity of this industry has taken many blows. While I am certain there are many dishonest people out there in any industry, the majority of the people I have worked with over the years have been honest and hardworking individuals.
Q: What is your favorite part of the job? Your favorite part about working for Sun Auto Service?
A: I enjoy problem solving. I have always believed in making it as easy as possible for people to do business with us.
Q: What’s the number one tip you would provide to car owners about maintaining their vehicles?
A: Maintain your vehicle! Check your owner’s manual for your service intervals and follow that at a minimum.
Thanks again for all of that great info, Mike!
