Finding quality auto care in Austin has never been easier, thanks to Sun Auto Service. We make it a priority to deliver service that’s on-par with the dealership at the most affordable prices. Today we sit down with Store Manager Adrian Perez to find out how he got started in the business and how he keeps the wheels turning at his shop.
Question: Where did your journey in the automotive industry begin?
Answer: I have been in the automotive repair industry for about 20 years. I started out driving parts to garages and then went to work for those garages, and the rest is history.
Q: Is there a certain kind of car or truck you prefer to work on?
A: I don’t have a favorite type of car to work on. There are some vehicles that are hard to figure out; I like helping our techs with these because I like to learn something new every day.
Q: How about specific kinds of repairs that you enjoy performing?
A: All of them, from the simple oil change to engine replacement. To see a vehicle leave the garage running and sounding good, that’s when I feel good.
Q: What kinds of qualities do you look for in a Sun Auto Service technician?
A: Qualities that I like in our technicians are teamwork and being humble. They don’t give up on problems and they help each other out.
Q: What’s your personal favorite part of the job?
A: My favorite part of the job is when I see a car leave our parking lot better than when it came in. Our company stands on hard work and doing the right thing, all the time.
Q: Finally, what’s the one suggestion you would give to drivers to get the most out of their vehicles?
A: The number one tip I would provide a car owner is to learn about your vehicle. Come in and ask us questions on how and what to do to maintain your vehicle so the repairs are less costly and less frequent.
